Okay, I can't decide. Therefore, you have to.

I still haven't deciced what to make for the special co-workers but I have decided what to make for the rest of the office. Tarte. Only, I have no idea [Poll #1824497]

Would the winning recipe suffice as an alternative? :D

Should do. I'll have to bribe my roommate to actually apply said recipe, though. My baking has many applications, but most of them are military.

How does that work? *puzzled

For one, my muffins make excellent blunt instruments. ;)

Even when supervised by someone who knows what they're doing, my baking just comes out like rocks.

Oh. Oooh. :D &hearts It's a gift. I think. If you're ever in big trouble and only have baking ingredients and equipment with you, you'll be prepared!

Exactly.

On the bright side, I can cook like nobody's business.

See, I try not to cook. It's better for me and everyone else...

I don't know that I've ever met anyone who is a good cook AND a good baker. You wouldn't think they'd be such opposite skillsets.

My mom's a really good cook and I'm a fairly good baker, and my sisters' explanation was that she likes to be spontaneous and doesn't like cooking strictly according to recipe while I like to be as close to a recipe as I can. That works very well for cooking but not for baking since baking requires you to be very exact and very much not spontaneous. Replacing ingredients works only for so long (white flour should never, never be replaced with whole weat flour for example...) and sometimes three minutes too long in the oven ruins the entire cake...

On the other hand, both my sisters are very good at both cooking and baking. Nyah. :S
