For the sake of fairness.

So.

Now that we all made our (justified) anger known... there's an apology from [livejournal.com profile] shahar81 and I thought it would only be fair to translate it as well maybe without comment, since, if I'm not mistaken, some of the commenters were English speaking.

Apparently a post I recently wrote left a nasty taste in some people's mouth. That might have been because I may have expressed myself awkwardly and was misunderstood completely. I deleted it so that there will be no further misunderstandings.

Far be it from me to draw a certain picture regarding some topics, people, mind sets, "opinions" and everything connected with it and I'm sorry that because of this some people conceived it incorrectly.

Well. An apology. Okay, fair enough.

But... correct me if I'm wrong (I mean it, please do) but does this say that the problem wasn't that her thing was clearly homophobe and hypocritical (and not too mention potentially hurtful to people concerned in her diatribe - does anyone see her apologizing for being wrong, instead of accusing us of reading her wrong?) but that we misunderstood her?

Mh.

*makes contemplative face

*still contemplating it

*hasn't stopped contemplating it

*isn't quite finished contemplating it

Okay. Am I the only one who still has that above mentioned nasty taste in her mouth?

On a side note: [livejournal.com profile] arielen posted an older article (she said it's from1998) on sexual orientation in fantasy that's a little outdated but still well worth reading, seeing as it's well-phrased and logical. Unfortunately, it's in German and a trifle too long to translate (but take it from me, it really is much more logical than... that other thing). Sorry, guys :S

I won't correct you. I'd never do such a thing. xD

(aka: That's precisely what I thought when I read the post. Which you already know... but still... ;))

Interesting. Very very interesting. *ponders with you*

I'm wondering whether she actually read what she wrote after she wrote it.
Maybe she did mean to write something different? *shrugs*
