One pair of new feet, please, thank you very much.

Why do I always forget how exhausting visiting foreign cities get and how much I need new feet already after the first day? And I didn't even walk the entire day because I decided pretend I'm rich and spent *mumbles unintelligibly on a guided bustour around the Bay Area (ie. Union Square, Haight Ashbury, Pacific Heights, Presidio, Golden Gate Park, Golden Gate Bridge etc.) which is why I cruised around the city for the first half of the day and then started the walking around thing (which, by the way, already resulted in shopping (as in, spending money on things I don't need)). And I even only walked around between Union Square, Westfield Center and China Town. Argh.

On the plus side, I now start to get a feel for the city and I got some inspiration for what to do here actually. I think I'll definitely have to visit the California Science Academy, the Aquarium of the Bay, a couple of museums, Presidio, Alcatraz and maybe Sausalito, too. Also, will try to find out if the hostel offers trips to Yosemite because I think I'd really like to do that, too. Otherwise, am watching forward very much to [livejournal.com profile] mackenziesmomma getting here and having fun with me at the Rosewood :D

And I still need new feet.

you have to do Alcatraz if nothing else and glad to hear that you're having fun!

Eh, telling me that I have to do something almost always results in me definitely not doing it at all. Yes, I know I'm weird that way and no, if I don't get to visit it after all, it won't be your fault ;)

ok so don't go and see Alcatraz. I forbid it. ;)

The Rosewood isn't going to know what hit it, methinks. Glad you're having fun. And you MUST do Alcatraz. Though my advice? Book now for later in the week (unless you can book through the hostel) as I've heard the tours fill up UBER quick.

Quite honestly, I hate booking things in advance :o I'll see if I can get into a tour. If I do, nice, if I don't not the end of the world ;)

Well you know me- I'm the queen of OCD planning at times ;)

We'll just have to work on that "Let life surprise you. It's okay when it does. It can actually be great." thing more...

Something about the whole "the last time life surprised me I ended up with a now 5 year old" kind of turns me off that idea.

Just ask my feet after my London trip last week ... But yeah, have fun, Aquarium of the Bay sounds great, as does the California Science Academy.

I'm starting to think that wanting to do everything by foot is a rather German thing... :D

California Academy of Science (I obviously misnamed it in the entry) was great, BTW :)
