One pair of new feet, please, thank you very much.

Why do I always forget how exhausting visiting foreign cities get and how much I need new feet already after the first day? And I didn't even walk the entire day because I decided pretend I'm rich and spent *mumbles unintelligibly on a guided bustour around the Bay Area (ie. Union Square, Haight Ashbury, Pacific Heights, Presidio, Golden Gate Park, Golden Gate Bridge etc.) which is why I cruised around the city for the first half of the day and then started the walking around thing (which, by the way, already resulted in shopping (as in, spending money on things I don't need)). And I even only walked around between Union Square, Westfield Center and China Town. Argh.

On the plus side, I now start to get a feel for the city and I got some inspiration for what to do here actually. I think I'll definitely have to visit the California Science Academy, the Aquarium of the Bay, a couple of museums, Presidio, Alcatraz and maybe Sausalito, too. Also, will try to find out if the hostel offers trips to Yosemite because I think I'd really like to do that, too. Otherwise, am watching forward very much to [livejournal.com profile] mackenziesmomma getting here and having fun with me at the Rosewood :D

And I still need new feet.

Just ask my feet after my London trip last week ... But yeah, have fun, Aquarium of the Bay sounds great, as does the California Science Academy.

I'm starting to think that wanting to do everything by foot is a rather German thing... :D

California Academy of Science (I obviously misnamed it in the entry) was great, BTW :)
