Oooh... okay. Teyla's awesome because she's a leader of her people and she does a great job of (if the writers let her, that is). She knows how to fight but she prefers diplomacy whenever possible and she never gives up trying to make the Earth people see that not living their way doesn't mean someone is inferior to them.
She's also insecure about a "working mum" but she makes a brave decision and she stands by it and I love it that she didn't give up her spot on the team after Torren was born.
I also love her loyalty, both to her people and to her team and that she never makes it easy for herself. She has a very big heart and she's a good teacher because she's both patient and no-nonsense when she has to be.
Teyla rocks! (if she's given the care and attention she deserves... I still resent the SGA writers for seemingly never even making an attempt to give her real character development, not those crude, half-assed tries they gave us instead)
