Okay, today? No fic. At least not until I got it done. ~~This is kinda like a placeholder and will be replaced with a story once the story for today was written (and, in the best of cases, betaed).~~ I'll give you a note when I posted it,

sgteam14283. I hope this is the only story I don't finish on time and that I get back into the groove but I honestly can't make any promises. Also, next year... I most certainly will not post it only two and half months before Christmas. In fact, I will post the meme for 2012 on Jan 1 2012 and try to write the stories over the course of the year. Yes.

PS.: This is the last time ever I'll work between Christmas and New Year's Eve, if it's not absolutely necessary (meaning, should I be so lucky as to wear a uniform again and serve as a soldier, firefighter, cop or medic (which I don't believe but let's never say never), working between Christmas and New Year's Eve would at least make sense... even working on Christmas and New Year's Eve would make sense in that case), I swear.

And another addition to the endless tale of my health fuck-ups. I'm at home for yet another week (because of an ear infection this time...). I'm not sure how to find this. Okay, so, it's another week's time for the

het_bigbang fic and it's another week's rest for the ankle (which has turned into all kinds of shades of color, by the way...) but on the other hand - and yes, this does concern me the most, don't worry - I don't think my managers will be happy about it. And rest assured, I'm not happy about it either. Mostly because I just bet this is going to take impossibly long again. Those kind of things always do for me. Blergh.

And yes, once my mom finally left the place, I'll call the guys who messed up the whole university application thing. At least then I'll have an outlet for my frustration.

Because I'm too stupid to walk down a couple of stairs. Yesterday, I wanted to sent off

schnelmi from Hauptbahnhof and was even kind of mindful when walking down the five storeys (I gave up wearing a bandage around the knee a couple of weeks ago because it was getting on my nerves and even despite it still hurting when trying to bend it further than a certain angle and sometimes also when walking etc. I figured it would never get better if I didn't give it the chance to work on itself actually). And then came, already outside, the very last step. Which was, in a quite literal sense, my downfall.

One moment

schnelmi was asking if someone could take one of her bags and the next I step down, hear a weird noise and feel pain shooting up from my ankle. Then I'm sitting on my ass and thinking OMG THE FUCKING KNEE GOT HURT AGAIN I BET IT DID until I realize that the knee is basically fine (at least not worse than it was before) but that OMG THE FUCKING ANKLE FUCKING HURTS. It ended with me walking all five storeys back up again (no elevator... at all), putting the foot up and being none too happy about the egg that was growing out of my ankle.

So I limped to the doc's this morning (I'm just kind of glad they didn't laugh at me right away and ask why I actually kept trying to use my legs if I totally suck at it anyway...), got an x-ray (do surgeons have some kind of x-ray fetish? From the look of it it was pretty clear that it was most certainly not broken) and an AirCast for four weeks (he suspects a torn ligament... another one? *head desks) and sick leave for one week. Apparently, the rule now is "Every year another limb" *head desks

PS.: But maybe... I can get to write another SGA/Army Wives crossover this week. Mh...

Dear assholes who thought it was a good idea to set fire on S-Bahn cables,

Run very fast, very far away. Because if they find out that someone really did set fire to those cables, you will have not only the police but also practically all of Berlin on your heels, including me. Isn't it enough that the S-Bahn is still on emergency schedule and will very likely have massive problems next winter again (just like the last two winters...)? Obviously, not for you because you very obviously thought it was a good idea to set some cables on fire which resulted in the entire east half of Berlin being without S-Bahn coverage. You assholes.

I seriously don't get why people would do something like that. Last time it were some self-proclaimed extreme left activists and seriously? That was a bullshit idea. People depending on the S-Bahn are not evil capitalists who need to be punished, they are your average run of the mill employees who need to get to work in time or they will be fired. So if your idea was to punish the evil capitalists with setting cables on fire, you did not meet your objective, you idiots.

If someone really was stupid enough to intentionally put half of Berlin's S-Bahn out of service, do hope the police doesn't find out it was you. Or rather... hope the police finds you... before S-Bahn customers do. God, how stupid can some people be?

ETA: Obviously, it really was arson. You stupid, egoist, criminal assholes. I don't care if you think you want to send some left-wing political message because the only message you actually are sending is that you care nothing about people. Stupid, stupid, stupid idiot assholes. Go fuck yourself. And run very fast and very far away.

to everyone on the f-list! I hope you all had the party you planned to have and that whatever you did on New Year's Eve was fun.

We, for our part, were apparently in a war zone. For all those people who have never been in Germany on New Year's Eve, let me tell you that it's kinda like in the US on July 4th or maybe even worse (or better, depending on your point of view). That is to say, it seems like some people save their money all the year, only to spend it in a glorious heap of explosions and BOOMs at the end of it (and yes, my family is no exception to that). About a week before New Year's Eve the sound of minor explosions can be heard sporadically, and the amount increases steadily until New Year's Eve, even though using fireworks is officially forbidden until 1800 on New Year's Eve and you can't buy fireworks before the 29th. I do have a feeling that some people deliberately buy more than the plan to use so they can have a kind of warm-up phase.

( May we all have our hopes, our will to try... if we don't we might as well lie down and die... )
