And another addition to the endless tale of my health fuck-ups. I'm at home for yet another week (because of an ear infection this time...). I'm not sure how to find this. Okay, so, it's another week's time for the het_bigbang fic and it's another week's rest for the ankle (which has turned into all kinds of shades of color, by the way...) but on the other hand - and yes, this does concern me the most, don't worry - I don't think my managers will be happy about it. And rest assured, I'm not happy about it either. Mostly because I just bet this is going to take impossibly long again. Those kind of things always do for me. Blergh.

And yes, once my mom finally left the place, I'll call the guys who messed up the whole university application thing. At least then I'll have an outlet for my frustration.

The women officers' lunch meetings shouldn't be confused with the Atlantis Ladies' Poker Night. Poker night is a cross-discipline affair - military, research and medical are all represented. (And, yes, it's where cross-disciplinary problems are aired, if not always resolved. Rarely resolved, in fact. And Dr Saunders is banned for precisely that reason.)

Similarly, any real problems the women encounter are dealt with behind closed doors, in Anne's office or quiet rooms off the infirmary.

No, lunch is about visibility.

"I don't get it," says Crown on her left. "I mean, what are they so angry about?"

"Christ, weren't you paying attention?" asks Cadman, just beyond her. "They explained the whole thing - Look, I have it here," she says, slipping a sleek device from one of her pockets.

"Oi, Captains," Dusty calls up the table. "No tech in the mess."

Cadman glares at her. "Earth tech don't count."

"What the hell use is that out here?" snaps Rodriguez.

Cadman smirks at her. "They won't let me put Angry Birds onto my LSD." She taps the surface of the phone, and a horribly jaunty tune fills the mess hall.

Not that this lot were ever going to be invisible.

SO MUCH! I like to think that they're all so very terrified because screw Woolsey and Sheppard. The female soldiers round table is what really rules Atlantis and those knowing about it are afraid of it while those who aren't afraid of it just are too stupid to know about it. Yes.

Sheppard certainly knows it, and is conspicuous in his absence when he knows they're going to be there. Occasionally they switch up the days, because his expression when he sees them is priceless...
