Yeah, I think people do think about that when voting. There is a degree of pin-the-hideously-expensive-event-on-the-country to Eurovision, isn't there?
Mind you, I think a budget Eurovision would be awesome :-)
I found the Native American thing cringey. I get that it was a childhood 'playing Indians' thing but without that I might have supported it as a kind of mid-level 'I wouldn't turn this off if it was played on the radio' entry. I found her accent rather irritating to be honest, but I agree the song in idea wasn't bad.
I didn't see Albania in the semi's - maybe if she was a lot better on key there, I can see how she ended up in the finals? And one thing that I didn't know is that the pro juries judge on the performance in the semi. So maybe they liked her then. The finals performance was... spectacular though.
