I didn't simply abandon you without notice. Rather, my DSL abandoned me.

Monday night my connection was suddenly gone so I decided to call the T-Com support line on Tuesday morning... which I did. The girl on the other side told me to wait for about three to six hours because a technician would call me sometime during that time. So I waited. And waited. And waited. When no one had called after seven hours, I called the support line again. This time I had some guy on the phone who said the agent from before had told me complete bullshit (and I think I caught him mumbling "I know that one... if she were still here, I'd smack her a good one." under his breath :D) and that he would give me a new support ticket because my line was dead. As in... D E A D.

On Wednesday morning, someone called me to tell me that they would send a technician around on Thursday between 1200 and 1400... and they did. The guy came here, had a look at my router (a very short look) and told me right away it was the router and that I needed to get a new one and had I still the receipt? I think if looks could kill, he'd have been toast in that moment. I glared at him, waved my hand around the apartment (which, right now, looks as if a bomb exploded in it) and said something like "Have a look around... does this really look like you could find anything in here, let alone a receipt?" I think he was a little bit frightened... in the end I got told he couldn't do anything for me and I'd have to pay a (presumably) three figure sum just for him coming here, have a look at my router and do a short measurement on the line that alledgedly told him everything was fine. You can image how amused by everything I was, right?

Anyway, luckily for me I had an idea when he was gone... I'd just packed the router I had still left from cleaning out the office in December 2008 into the trash and went to retrieve it (it's the same class as the one I had before the one said to be malfunctioning). Because you know, if it's just the router... everything should work fine once I got another one so I did.

Well, what can I tell you? It did not work so I called the support line again and the guy on the other end did a line reset and told me to put the other router back on line... and tell you what? Suddenly everything was working fine again. So, very apparently the totally inept technician someone didn't know how to do his job and wanted to charge me for his incompetence. Well... I think not. I'm already curious to see how this will play out as they assured me I'd get my money back since everything is documented and it's very clear that it wasn't my fault the DSL didn't work... but you never know with T-Com.

Usually, I really like being a T-Com customer because usually, their service is fast, competent and friendly. This time... not so much, but to cut them some slack: Apart from that girl from the beginning and the techie, everyone was as helpful and agreeable as always so I really hope the getting my money back issue will be solved as smooth as I'm used to.

And now... I'll go back to packing again because I'm still not finished with doing it and God I so grew to hate it over the past few days. I have 30plus crates and there's still stuff lying around and annoying me. Blergh. On the plus side, I probably found someone willing to help me with the renovation and drive me from here to Berlin after I'm done with the apartment. Yay!

Also, on the writing side: I've written the prologue and the first chapter of the Shock and Awe/What Made All The Difference (to remind you: those are the verses formerly known as twiniverse and RNT -verse) crossover I promised at the end of Fanfic100 and I'm quite confident it'll actually see the light of the internet... if you're interested, that is.

Well I for one am glad to know that you are still alive ;) Was actually starting to worry about you :S

Sorry about all the issues with the router/DSL stuff *hugs* on it.

Also good luck finishing and moving up to Berlin, hopefully that portion of everything goes smoothly.

Sorry about your IT troubles. Yay to shock and awe! I've got my fingers crossed for some John/Teyla in there.

Just be a little patient ;) Right now working on the second "Meet the Parents" piece (because mac suggested separating it into two stories since the stretch after the climax in the first story would have been too long otherwise) has the highest priority since I don't want people to keep waiting too long for updates on it :) (also, I have the aftermath all written out and am dying to post it and see people's reactions...
