First of all, thanks to myfloralbonnet and asugar for their well wishes. They're very much appreciated and did cheer me up, at least a little :) (which isn't your fault but entirely mine because, as I said, I'm generally a glass half empty person and those are notoriously hard to cheer up).

Second: I just came back from a day at the doctors' (yes, plural) and it looks like I sprained the knee. The surgeon said I should cool it over the weekend and come back on Tuesday. If the (minimal) swelling hasn't gone away by then and it didn't get better, they'll have to do an MRI to see if there aren't any ligaments scribed (i.e. not fully ruptured). Let's all just hope it's not that because that usually takes ages to heal and the one thing I really, really don't want is surgery. Seriously, I'll wear a cast (like, you know, the one they just gave me...) for weeks or do physical therapy or whatever but I absolutely do not want surgery. Everyone cross their fingers, please :S
