There's good news and there's bad news...

or there's just bad news, depending on where you're standing.
First things first, you may or may not have heard that SGU is officially and finally canceled. Well... it's not like it wasn't foreseeable at some point, at the latest when Brad Wright was blaming "disgruntled SGA fans" for the failing ratings of SGU. For me, that was the point where TPTB (and sadly also their end of the franchise) lost all credibility and... and I forgot what else. Anyway, I lost whatever regard I still had for them and their end of the franchise (that is, the official side, not the fan side... I still very much love the fan side) so I'm mostly "Yeah, whatever *shrugs" about the cancelation. But... it does fuel my hope that there will never be a stupid SGA movie written by Mallozzi or any other of thoseidiots guys. Maybe... they'll finally leave the franchise in peace and to the people who actually care for the characters: the fans.
Second thing: Yahoo decided to close down Delicious. Why? No idea. Probably because they're FUCKING IDIOT FUCK-WITS THAT DON'T KNOW SHIT AND DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR USERS AND JUST THEIR MONEY AND WHO CAN GO FUCK THEMSELVES! Ahem. Yes. What the hell am I to do with my 781 wonderfully tagged and organized bookmarks and why is everyone abandoning Delicious the moment the announcement gets through? Don't you have any decency, people? Or loyalty? There are petitions and campaigns and stuff for all kinds of stupid and a little less stupid things but when something as convinient and comfortable as Delicious is shut down, the first thing people do is abandon it and go looking for a new tool? I'm disappointed. Really, I am.
What's the matter, people? Anyone in for starting a campaign and getting someone else to buy Delicious and save us all from the hassle of having to migrate? Come on, you could campaign for Stargate Atlantis and all that stuff, you sure can campaign for something that's actually useful. Let's do that! Who's with me?
On a wholly unrelated note: I think I probably listened to the Pearl Harbor main theme one time too many because for a few days now, this has been haunting me:
You stand there on the dais and you look into the water. Your eyes see rusting steel and salt water but in your head, you see something else. You see blood and chaos, soldiers, sailors, everyone and no one, lipstick on foreheads, markings that don't make any sense and decide who's to live and who's to die. You blink and then there's just the sea and the ships underwater again and you only hear the soft wind and the little waves against the dais. You know it's impossible but you think you also hear the faint echo of banging against ship walls and men screaming in agony. You resist shaking your head because you know you're just imagining it and you can keep it together without the headshaking. You could keep it together even back then and you will still keep it together. You never lose composure because nurses never do. But you remember. You remember that it was the end of the world as you knew it.
Oh. I think I wrote my first real drabble. Huh.
